"Should I get gel or acrylic?" is the question we hear most at the nail bar. Both give you length, strength and a flawless canvas for art — but they're built differently, so the right pick depends on your nails and your lifestyle.

What is a gel extension?

Gel is cured under a lamp to a glassy, flexible finish that moves a little with your natural nail. It looks the most "your own nails, but better" — ideal if you want length that feels lightweight and natural.

What is an acrylic extension?

Acrylic is a liquid-and-powder blend that sets hard and strong. It holds dramatic length and sculpted shapes — stiletto, long coffin — better than anything else, making it the choice for statement sets.

How to choose

  • Want natural and low-key? Go gel.
  • Want long, bold, sculpted drama? Go acrylic.
  • Nails on the weaker side? Either works — we'll prep and structure to protect your natural nail underneath.
  • First time? Start with a shorter gel set to get comfortable.

Making them last

Whichever you choose, the aftercare is the same: oil your cuticles daily, wear gloves for cleaning, never use your nails as tools, and book a refill every 2–3 weeks rather than letting the set grow out and lift.

A refill on schedule keeps your set looking brand-new — and protects the natural nail underneath.
